Manny Must Go

Last night I noticed during the Sox/Yankees game that both Joe Girardi and Terry Francona actually left the dugout to have a "conversation" with an umpire. Girardi got tossed for arguing balls and strikes. Maybe such theatrics are part of their exclusive contract with ESPN for the right to broadcast every one of their games in primetime, but still, they had their emotions on display.

This stands in start contrast to Manny "I'll only step out of the dugout to bring in one of my sure -to-blow-it relievers" Acta, who has not gotten ejected from a game since July 26, 2007. This to me is inexcusable. Manny shows absolutely no passion whatsoever and the lack of getting tossed is a good measure of that.

I don't care how many people say, "You don't see how he is in the clubhouse." That excuse is getting as old and tired as "We can't accurately judge this team because of all the injuries."

Come on Manny, get angry. We are.

In case you don't believe me, can you honestly picture Manny Acta doing this?

I didn't think so.

Mike Scioscia got thrown out today telling an ump what he thought about his guy who got hit with a pitch.
