Hats Off to the PR Dept.

I've been critical of the Nats marketing dept. (the existence of Screech the chicken, failure to properly distribute T-Shirts via the rocket launcher, criticizing PDAs all the while doing the Kiss Cam during the games, etc.) but I have to admit that this Sunday's promotion is pretty cool.

"Nats Conversion Day - The first 10,000 fans that bring in any old MLB merchandise - hats, t-shirts, anything - can trade it in for a brand-new Nats Curly W cap courtesy of ExxonMobil."


Aside from the poor gate workers having to put up with snide remarks about gas prices, it seems like a creative idea.

The only thing I'd appreciate more is if they took it just one step further and throughout the year FORCIBLY REMOVED other teams caps from patrons heads and replaced them with Nats ones, especially these:
